Playing from Hawaii

Being in Hawaii, I'm pretty far from the closest gateway (California).

My connection ranges from 128ms to 240ms.

Is the game playable with these connection speeds? Is there any way to somehow mitigate this issue?

I don't mind playing alone, I just want to experience the game.
