No Citadels for me?

Does the lack of beacons in my fog mean I have no citadels on my map? Or will the beacon not show if it is in the deep fog? Meaning where you can't see the tops of the Lost Towers.

How far are you from starting area?
I think they only show up in fog when you are close to it. Deep fog areas are probably not even generated before you get closer. |

Looking at it from that perspective I'm probably not that far in one direction from my start. Thanks for the reply.

Ah cool, good to know. I thought it is because I'm doing lvl 9 maps still.
