Legacy Items In PoE2?
I have yet to see a forum post about this but, I noticed a lot of updates to unique items in the recent patch. Some of the stats of certain uniques you already owned prior to the patch can be updated using a divine orb. I am certain most players won't bother doing that since a lot of the items are not worth using a divine.
I know GGG made a forum post many years ago in regards to why they can't remove legacy items from the game due to long downtime where no one gets to play at all whether it could take days or weeks. But since this game is still new, that shouldn't be an issue. And they can't use that as an argument anymore until it gets to the point where it actually does. I am not against the idea of having legacy variants in game, but I am thinking that this is what GGG intends to do for every unique item that requires some rebalancing or stat modifications in future patches/updates. But is this something that we need? I am curious as to what GGG thinks about it and what their stance is. What are your thoughts? Last bumped on Jan 17, 2025, 2:39:40 PM

I have always thought that items in permanent leagues should maintain their original stats.
Legacy variants can end up with a pedigree so to speak. ~ I have selective hearing, and today, you have not been selected.

Mostly the league system takes care of that.
However, I am certain our EA characters will at some point be retired to a void league, possibly repeatedly, and not flow into what will eventually be the PoE2 standard league. Or maybe they will, not like many people would care. It's early access, they are testing things out, and I sure hope they have different priorities right now. Zaanus:
