Account synch issue

I can't synch my xbox account because I don't have access to the email I originally used to set up my account here. At this point given the delay from support I'd honestly rather just unsynch my steam account and start over as I'm not overly concerned with anything I bought for POE1.

Anyone tried that? Does it work?
