Allied Presence blocked by terrain/line of sight - Intended mechanic?

Hi,
We are running a duo setup and just noticed that the presence from an ally is blocked by many different things regarding line of sight. Examples: Most common - Any wall, object or other that blocks movement puts you out of allied presence regardless of distance. Terrain - Trees on steppe, whilst an object, does not impede on line of sight. However, the hills that you can walk over apparently do as your ally below you cannot see up the hill, thus removing its presence. Cliffs - In forge for example, walking around a bend in the path puts you out of presence. Even if the gap itself has no objects in it, the game still registers this as "terrain" and removes any buffs from presence. Surely this is not the intended mechanic? We have been running Alpha's Howl for double presence radius, but if im around a corner it no longer works. Not sure how this interacts with your own minions as they cannot check tooltip dps etc. But I'm sure a lot of minion builds are suffering from this on tight maps aswell.
