Optiscaler frame generation - allowed?

I'm sure a lot of people have heard about the Optiscaler Frame Generation mod. I'm having horrendous FPS issues with the game (3070, Ryzen 5 5600H) and this could potentially help a lot, if it doesn't bring a ton of input lag (haven't tested). I imagine this could also help a ton with handhelds like the ROG Ally etc.

But, like the mod creator warns, it's unclear if using this is a-ok with GGG.

I don't suppose there has been any official response regarding this? Has there been any history of banning similar things before? (Also, if anyone's tried it, how's the input lag situation?)

Have you tried Lossless Scaling?

https://store.steampowered.com/app/993090/Lossless_Scaling/

That will never be bannable because it doesn't mod/'hook' into the game.

I did, yeah; 35 -> 70 worked great visually, I couldn't make out any artifacts etc, but the input lag was too much (felt worse than just playing at 35fps). For some reason, Lossless Scaling has a magic base FPS value around 36 for me, and if I go even 1 FPS above that (for instance 40 -> 80), the image quality drops dramatically & gets all kinds of ghosting and afterimages.

A friend thought Optiscaler might have less lag since it hooks into the .dll.

Source? Reshade hooks into the same files and it's been announced to be OK before.
Nah you can't use reshade either.....

Again, do you have a source?

Bex says he's "pretty sure they're okay" here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/5dnknj/comment/da6cbuy/?context=1

It would be nice to know if Optiscaler falls into the same category (& get an official clarification of that in general).

I do, when the company employees have specified Reshade to be okay ("without the prior written approval" in your own quote), and people have been using it for close to a decade? What's with the rage? O_o

people have been getting banned for using it. bex doesn't even work for POE anymore and they they didn't say it was ok they didn't know. Like i don't care what you do, but they even had problems when ppl were removing soundfiles cause it was causing lag long ago.
