POE Devs making the same Mistakes Helldivers 2 made.

When it comes to video games, they are meant to be enjoyed. Players dedicate their limited free time to these games, finding joy and satisfaction in building towards something meaningful and rewarding. However, when a game is difficult due to poor design, those issues need to be addressed in the right way!

Another significant concern is nerfing. An overpowered element in the game doesn't necessarily mean it's inherently problematic; it often indicates that the development team may have miscalculated and not fully understood the interplay between skills and damage, along with the math needed. Adjusting these elements without proper consideration can undermine the players' progress and accomplishments. Making a player feel as if the game just isn't worth the time, if its just going to "easer my save file", by nerfing my character.

As seen with Helldivers, this can gradually drive players away and will! Nerfing is a superficial fix to a larger issue. It is more critical to address the underlying mathematical balance, even though it requires more effort and work from the dev team. This might mean buffing and reworking various skills. ALOT more work! My advice to developers: Invest the necessary work to ensure the game remains enjoyable without diminishing players' hard-earned progress for the sake of convenience. Let's make video games fun and rewarding, rather than undermining the dedication of the players.

Buffing is harder than nerfing, for sure.
But is totally worth it.

Sweet summerchild, you clearly walked into the wrong neighborhood.

You´ll find out soon enough how savage GGG can be when it comes to nerfing overpowered stuff. Rightfully so - I might add.
