Can GGG Comment on the future of POE1
Not all of us are sold on the current form of POE2 and we would really like to see something happen with POE1. The radio silence is starting to seem like the game is dead. I hope GGG can at least let us know if POE1 has a future or not. I was worried when the games were split, that it was truly beyond the scope of the team to sustain both games, and going into a 6 month league, and literally no comments on the future of POE1 makes it seem like that is holding true.
I really hope GGG does not put all their eggs in one basket and kill the game that literally made them what they are today. I know they have stubbornly stuck to "visions" in the past, but it honestly seemed like the last few leagues of POE1 where showing a lot of reflection and growth by the developers. There are a lot of us, that want the swifter and more diverse playstyle of POE1 over that of the slower and more methodical playstyle of POE2. Many of us have invested hours and hours into POE1 and are truly not grooving with POE2. Please GGG do not alienate those of us that prefer POE1. We are not saying POE2 is bad or you shouldn't continue with it, but there should still be a place for POE1 as was the original plan. Last bumped on Jan 16, 2025, 10:47:02 PM

poe1 will eventually be disregarded and left to die like standard was, they gave us like a 4 man team for over a year to work on poe1 while evrybody else focused on poe2, that won't change after full release. the goal will be to slowly integrate ( push ) us into poe2 imo

"My interpretation is rather: They partially gave up on "the vision" for PoE1 because they lost interest in it with their "new baby" being PoE2. The result was that they gave players more of what players wanted instead of sticking to "the vision". So no "growth"/"reflection" but rather shift of focus. If PoE1 would get its own dedicated team this wouldnt necessarily be bad. But so far my impression is that management competence/willingness to do what needs doing for that is severely lacking. The most obvious easy solution would be to buy a (foreign) studio for PoE1 development, Tencent has plenty expertise for that. No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

GGG said it would annouce a new league for POE 1 in late January, but they still silent. A 6 month league is a good idea for those who want to play the two games, but for me POE 2 looks like a copy of Diablo 4 and I dont pretend to play. POE 2 was more "POE" when the first videos started to show up but now that the game has been released it has turned out to be different. Its slow, the combat is kinda souls (with less enemies) and the places are narrower. There are many players of Diablo 4 who enjoyed the game and said that POE 2 is what Diablo 4 should have been. The main streamers of POE are still playing POE 2 to take advantage of the hype, media attention and profit from subscriptions and endorsements
