Coming back after a very long time away

Hello everyone.

I have played and supported PoE1 many times through supporter packs, stashes and other sort of mtx, It may sound silly to many of you here but i think that i have spent more money in PoE 1 than hours playing it, I have never made it to Sirus for example or Elder i think i made it only to Veritania, Al-Hezmin and Baran, i have managed to defeat them but not many times so in truth i feel a noob to Path of Exile 1 and of course 2, now much more since i was away for a very very long time.

I'm just wondering what PoE2 sets to do differently compared to PoE1?
The game is in early access so i guess that only a few acts are available and there's not much or no end game going on yet and by consequence there's no season going on yet?

In terms of the player economy, is it still here or they have done things differently compared to PoE1?

I logged in to the game a few moments ago and i saw that we have a cosmetics panel, there i can find all the skins i got in the past but i can't use any so i suspect that the devs will make them available at a later time?
They said, unless things changed, that skins and stashes that a player purchased in Poe1 will be available in PoE2.

Is PoE2 lore related to PoE1 or it's a separate game?
Thing is that many times in PoE1 i felt overwhelmed because of the many things going on, I don't know if with time PoE2 will go in that direction, maybe in time it will, but i see PoE2 like the perfect opportunity to take it all in, plus it's in early access so i can grow as a player as the game grows as well.

In terms of player progression, how has it been for you guys that have played PoE2 for many hours already? Can we feel our character grow powerful like we did in PoE1 or is that progress somewhat slower?

Thank you all in advance for taking time reading this.

Give it a try.
I only played 1 character to level 70 in PoE1 and some to like level 30. I stopped because I got absolutely overwhelmed by 10+ mechanics when I was at level 70 and I bricked my character.

So far I'm loving PoE2, endgame still has to be balanced though as they said they just slapped it onto it on the last moment. It's still a complex game but because there's less content it's not overwhelming for me. So far i'm level 92 on my monk and i'll probably play this game for a long time.

Cosmetics will come in PoE2 gradually as they are ready.
