Exalted Orb drops

I have 190+ hours in gameplay, a level 49 Monk and lvl 40 Witch. I have completed all three Acts on Monk. I cannot access Trade because of some issue with either STEAM or GGG. I have submitted two Support tickets with no response from either. During my playing time I have seen approx 20+ Exalted gems drop for me. I have attempted to farm for them, but I have now decided that is just a waste of time. I am enjoying the aspects of the game, but with not being able to Trade, I am totally reliant on gem drops to upgrade the gear that I have. And Exalted Orbs seemed to have dried up for me. Is this what you are experiencing? I am a retired senior citizen(73 years young) and this is one of my more enjoyable past times but at the moment I am a little frustrated with this aspect of the game. Would love to hear some feedback from you.

I am a bit curious about how you are not able to access trade.
Is it the website you can not access?
Did you make your character in SSF league (solo self found, they are unable to trade by design)?
The NPC that allows you to trade currencies are not available before act 4 (act 1 cruel difficulty) I believe.

Do note that the game is a farming game so you are supposed to farm for gear and currency, but I recommend you don't focus/try to just farming one thing like exalt orbs. At your level you can get away with mostly blue gear, or 3 stated rare (crafted with transmutation, augmentation and regal orb)

Thank you for your reply. Most welcomed. As to why I can't trade, every time I log to the POE2 Trade window, I get an error87 code and a red box that says something to the effect "You must be logged in" or something to that effect. I have a two screen setup and one screen is for POE2 and the other I open the POE2 trade. I search for items I'm interested in, click "whisper" and the red error box shows up. I have an old POE1 account which I haven't used since 2013 and a new POE2 account. Somehow, probably due to USER error, all my POE2 chars are on the old POE1 USERNAME#XXXX account. Not sure how that happened. I merged the two accounts following GGG directions since I use STEAM (?) and this is the result.
Did this happen today?

It looks like there are problems with the trade site today, I am not able to search for anything neither are my friends.

Some other reason you might have problems is that the whisper button in the browser is not able to find your game running and send the message for you. You could try click the drop down arrow next to it and select "copy whisper message" and paste it in chat in game to send it manually.

Link your steam account to to your POE account then login to the trade website via steam.

Now you won't get the error and can use the direct message feature.

Happened to me in POE1 I played 2 leagues until I figured it out.
Looks like other people are also reporting that the trade site is down / having issues right now.

Exalted Orbs mostly came later in the game for me ramping up from Act 1 cruel. There's a natural progression the higher you will get.
Thanks everyone for your kind response and guidance. I have linked my POE account with STEAM but, either I'm doing something wrong, or it is still not allowing me to TRADE. Perhaps there is an issue today, as some responses indicated, with the TRADE window. I have never been able to TRADE so this is an issue for me, at least, for the last 3+ weeks. I shall continue to play and hope something opens up for me down the road.
