Activating PASSIVE skills seems lame (new player experience)

Idk how others feel about activating PASSIVE skills, but it seems counter-intuitive to press a button each time for a skill in the PASSIVE tree. Imagine having to activate energy shield or Herald of Ice & Thunder each time before a fight. It just feels clunky to use this skill which is a PASSIVE skill. It's an ascendancy SKILL. It doesn't matter where it comes from, it has an active/inactive state.
if you want to be really pedanctic about it, the passive skill tree is passively giving you the option to use the skill. |
