Atlas tier progression

I watched the interview, where the devs said that they felt that ppl where going too fast to the higer teirs in the atlas.
And it results in ppl dying, too much.

But after playing the atlas for a while i feel its quite ovius why, this happens.

The only way to get passive points for the atlas is to complete a set amount of each teir, the you have too move up a teir.

Any map i complete below what is required to get skill points feel like a waste.

So in my opinion they need to change how you get passive points to the atlas, so ppl wont worry about moving up so fast.

I agree with the sentiment that guiding players better through the tiers would be the best option.

On the other hand I think that it is not a big deal. Since I believe that every player should understand, that when they start dying over and over again in maps, that these maps are probably too difficult for the current state of their character. And therefor start farming for better equipment in lower tiers.

Its a balancing act. Since on the one hand you do not want to hold back players that are more experienced. On the other hand you want to guide newer players to the content that fits their current progression. In PoE 1 you have basically the same progression. A little bit different but also a specific number of maps for each tier.

Edit:
About holding players back. Currently that is not the case, since you can use higher tier maps to complete the lower tier quest steps. I was just thinking, if they change it, that would be an important point to keep in mind.

Good point.

Maby they could also show clealy what type of damage killed you.

I think that would be a step on the way to "hint" to players what type of defance they are missing.
THIS!!

Was sitting here to myself saying ... I really don't have a clue one what or how I died 95% of the time between all the screen clutter and lack of being able to even see the enemy skills or ground effects. *my biggest gripe on this game*

I'm a very accountable player to myself but this game has me go ..what the hell was that? Way more than not.
It's incredibly frustrating at times.

There have been moments where I’ve been caught off guard, completely blindsided, with no idea what hit me.

This is especially true when playing my Infernalist. The fire wall often obscures other spell effects, making it hard to see what's going on.
