Why are there random waystones listed for insane prices?

If you search t15 waystones and sort by highest price, you get listings from multiple to thousands of mirrors. Why are people listing them like this? Like just normal/average ones. I wanted to get an idea of price ranges but this is just full of nonsense listings so i can’t tell. Is there a reason for this?

Ahh okay so that’s it. I knew there had to be some weird reason behind it. Well, that’s annoying.
People accidently throw random maps in tabs all the time, and they will get listed for whatever the buyout on that tab is.

its a byproduct of how much trading in this game has been metagamed to this point over the years. You just throw anything that looks good into a high price tab and gradually move it down. You dont have time to price check everything, especially when other players literally do it for you when you eventually get a whisper to buy an item once its moved down in buyout tabs enough to get to a price reasonable enough for someone to buy it.

Items in this game also dont have fixed values. Maybe theres a ring with identical stats except one has str and the other int, maybe theres some guy that really needs that combination of stats and needs int, and he might be willing to pay a few extra divs for it compared to the str one not even being on his radar at all.

The inverse also happens were people throw items they dont know whats worth into a 1 div / 1ex tab and if they get multiple whispers all those idiots just let him know maybe he should price check that item because its worth something. But if he price checks everything hes gonna spend half his gaming time on the trade should messing with filters etc.

This whole economy and trading system is not easy to grasp for new players, and they probably arent used to how ruthless it is. No one is gonna spend 10 minutes whispering the 50 people that tried to buy their 10 div item saying "sorry my mistake" and people aren't going to stop mapping to tell the poor bastard that is trying to buy a 1ex item from them "sorry busy can you wait 5 mins?" they are just going to ghost them, and then that causes behavior like what I do when buying those cheap items were ill spam whisper 10 people and just take the first invite I get because i know 80% of these guys are not going to respond because they are afk or busy.

It is what it is, and you just have to play that.
I know that in our guild it's also used as an extra "donation" tab.
Since guild stash is limited, players list their extra goods on their public stash tab, and guild members can request items from there.
The amount of mirrors can also reflect persons gamertag number.

How many players you know have buyout tabs for 8000+ mirrors and throw random stuff in there? You wasted your time typing all that up after apparently not even reading the original question, or you vastly misunderstand what I was asking. I know how trading works. This appears to be an outlier situation, not a dump tab issue. Someone else provided a relevant answer already which is that it's likely RMT, and that's the kind of response I was looking for. Waystones in a random 1 div dump tab might make sense. This was not that.
