Hybrid gear?

I’m new to the game, although i’ve played atleast 200 hours in the game I still dont know and understand the hybrid stats on gear. Any kind soul that can explain it? Tried google it without any good luck.

Hybrid could refer to two different things.

First, hybrid gear itself could refer to gear that has two primary attributes. For example, Strength/Intelligence gear is equipment that requires both Strength and Intelligence to use, and will provide both Armour (like Strength gear does) and Energy Shield (like Intelligence gear does).

There's also hybrid modifiers, such as things like +% Spell Damage & +Mana. These modifiers grant two stats (in this example, spell damage and mana) so appear at first glance to be two separate modifiers, but in fact are just one hybrid modifier, so would only use up one modifier slot (but generally be weaker than a modifier that just provides one of those stats). You can check this by holding Alt when looking at an item. A hybrid modifier will show both of its lines next to a single tier at the right side of it, as opposed to two individual modifiers that would each have their own tier listed individually.
Thank you for your answer! I have some follow up questions regarding the hybrid modifiers. I’m playing monk with quarterstaves. The hybrid modifiers always seems to be psy dmg % + accuracy and correct me if I’m wrong psy dmg % + flat psy? Is that correct or can it be more hybrid modifiers on staffs?

Then on my helmet my main goal is reaching as high ES as possible, is a non hybrid helmet always the best because it got higher stats?

I dont really see the true benefits of a hybrid modifiers on gear, am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.
You can find a list of modifiers on the different item types on the poe 2 db. You'll have to search for the site, as it's a 3rd party site, and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to paste the url here. Once there, you can evaluate the different items and affixes to decide what will be the most beneficial for you to use.
