Playstation 5 performance
I'm banging the drum, that so many before has.
I'm having a terrible time with a game i really like, because screen tearing, blurriness when moving, shuddering and frame drops are plaguing my experience. Even worse effects are hitting me when playing with friends, where every symptom is worsened. I had some High hopes when it came to the patch notes, but doesn't seem to be addressed. I would really like a official response to this issue, because it seems to be ignored in order to cater to balancing of gameplay. Please take a look at this. I AGREE 100% AND THEY DONT EVEN GIVE UP THE OPTION OF SWITCHING BACK AND FOURTH TO CONSOLE AND PC they make us buy another cd key in order to do so , but if you have played ps5 you literaly realize its completely a laggy unplayable mess ive died countless times on t10 maps due to complete lag spikes im sick of it

Hi, if it helps you, I recently bought the PS5 Pro, and I have to say the game plays much better. However, when I say it plays better, I don’t mean it’s perfect. It varies from map to map – some run fine at 60-80 FPS, while others drop to 40 (on the lowest settings, of course). So overall optimization is still really bad, even on the PS5 Pro – just about 50% better compared to the base PS5 version. I think they didn’t even test the game on the base PS5 version? At least not in the endgame... On the PS5 Pro, I finally know what I’m doing when I activate a breach. On the base PS5, when I triggered a breach, I just held the button and prayed I wouldn’t die because the FPS could easily drop to 5. GGG, please, if anyone from your team is reading this, we truly love your game, but this is unplayable. Please, we’re begging you, hear us out. Thank you so much! The screen tearing has been a consistent issue for me throughout my play through, especially on maps with and form of foliage or large trees. I have tested the game with every setting change i possibly can and found no fix.
When it comes to FPS, running the game at 720p helps up until Act 3 Cruel and beyond. Although having to run a game at below HD resolution in 2025 is unacceptable. Worse yet is the freezing. I'm sure my minion witch build is not helping. The game will freeze for 5-10 seconds and then play everything that would have happened in half a second leading to instant deaths. It has become so frustrating loosing endgame maps to this every time, even at tier 1. I was hoping putting another 100 hours into a monk build might help the issues but others feedback is not giving me hope. On a more positive note. This is my first ARPG I've ever played and when it works its the most fun game I've played since Elden Ring. The communication from the dev team seams excellent but is disappointing to see that console seem to have been forgotten about already. |

I'm playing on a PS5 Pro.
I really just got started, so I'm very low level. Outside of the first town, performance is pretty good, but again, this is very early game and the screen is not full of monsters or effects. It runs fine. Probably at or close to 60FPS on mid level graphics. I also have a 240hz monitor with VRR enabled. It really should run better, but it is fine. But in the first town? It's a slideshow. Maybe 20FPS... certainly lower than 30FPS. And there's only maybe 10 players present in town. Performance is not great even on the Pro. |

When you open the Options menu, you can see the FPS and also the CPU/GPU frame time. Any time you’re experiencing a massive dip, the CPU frame time is likely the culprit. GGG will have to perform some serious CPU-related engine optimizations for either PS5/Pro to maintain playable frame rates. If they can manage to do that, then the extra performance offered by the Pro’s GPU will allow you to benefit from a higher internal render resolution than the base PS5.
Right now, the experience is very similarly bad in most situations (we’ve played on both) and the CPU is always the culprit. |
