Price Checks in Global should be an Auto Mute
Enough is Enough
Nobody knows the prices of your item, and there are multiple sources to help you figure it out. Nobody every replies with a real answer, but it is spammed constantly on a daily basis. Last edited by smokesnugsYT#7752 on Jan 12, 2025, 12:12:12 AM Last bumped on Jan 15, 2025, 7:47:51 PM

No information is given in game about prices. New players have no clue there are sites for pricing. Maybe instead of being a douche and wanting to ban people for asking questions you should try pointing them to those sites to use. Better yet maybe GGG should add something in game that would give a suggested price or direct players to those sites.

True those price checkers really get in the way of me , enjoying the racial slurs , political chat , offensive memes , and general insults .
also those people asking for help , ughhh , dont they know this is reddit , i mean poe global chat? i really dont understand why 99% of online video games disable any global chats . how are we supposed to be toxic to the whole server then? Thank you GGG for letting us have global chat , so i can tell the world how good i am , how i am gonna value myself if i cant show player 3453423 that my items are better? |

" yeah something....like an auction house in gameXD |

" Yeah I tried that, and guess what? There is an endless stream of people asking for price checks, non stop. I am somewhat new to POE, I have a couple hundred hours in poe1 and now about 300+ in poe2, in that time I only managed to create a few characters and only did 1 league (Settlers) But immediately I found out how to use the trade site, it took little to no effort at all. These players are not dumbfounded about how trade works, and if they were they could easily find out how to work with it and find rough price estimates. They are simply LAZY. That's it, there is no other reason. Shifting the developers lack of explanations and player laziness onto other players to pickup slack is not the right way to do things. Also, trade crap was already an auto-mute situation if posted in global in POE1. I figured out real quick not to post trade crap in global because I was automatically muted, and I didn't do it again. Trade channels are on BY DEFAULT when you start POE2. There is absolutely no reason to be asking trade crap in Global unless you are just lazy and don't care. And finally, There is NEVER an accurate or honest answer to these price checks!!! If you come chill in Global 2 for a while you will see, literally EVERY price check, and there are a LOT of them, are met with "25ex" that is the default answer that EVERY single price check gets, no matter what the item or the price, the meme response is "25ex" We are being spammed non stop by crap that results in more spam, I would like to be able to participate in the global chat without having to filter through crap spam because people are lazy. |

" Just find a global channel that doesn't have many price checkers it's not hard /global 3 /global 4 /global 5... the list goes on and on, is there something special about global 2 besides all the price checkers that seem to give you so much frustration? Or are you staying there on purpose and just boiling over slowly? |

" No, they're not. They are disabled until you've got a character over level 20 and choose to enable them. Afterwards, they're on by default. But for the newest players and those who have the least awareness (as in, the most likely to need a price check) they're not on. Instead of castigating those needing help as lazy, maybe try to understand why they're struggling and what might be done to improve things for them. After all, you can't fix them being lazy, if that is the extent of it. The devs can't either. But they can provide an auction house rather than a trade website to facilitate easier, safer, and more visible trade. And they can have an "appraiser" in the auction house who gives someone the average value of sales for a given item, rarity, and total affix value combination over the last 7 days. You put the item in, it spits back a price that could be way too high or way too low based on the actual affixes and synergies involved but is at least as good of a starting point as what you'd likely get out of general chat. At which point, the volume of price checks needed and asked for would drop precipitously. Alternately, trade could *actually* be enabled by default. Either way would likely help with your situation. Why don't the devs do it? Guess they must be lazy? ;-P |

Friendly advice for all new players in POE: do not use any Global or Trade chat to check the price.
There they will most likely laugh at you and make fun of you. Learn to use trade site filters, it's the most reliable and secure, and it's not difficult at all. |
