Intense GPU burn after yellow mobs die
I'm getting 110C hot spot spikes in POE2 *only* after *defeating* yellow mobs. Anyone else? I can have a screen of exploding mobs and my gpu is at a happy 70C, but if a yellow dies my fans go 100% for 2 seconds then back to normal.
Is this an optimization thing? My specs Asus TUF 4070 Ti Super OC AMD 9800X3D 32GB 6000 MT/s DDR5 Last edited by Psilocin#1875 on Jan 11, 2025, 6:58:20 PM Last bumped on Jan 11, 2025, 9:30:26 PM

I'm on an AMD 6900x and get regular spikes in performance as well. I haven't paid enough attention to it to associate it with rares, but if you're in maps those on death effects (the cosmetic ones, not the damaging ones) are certainly not helping.
I have had a lot of trouble running modern games on AMD hardware. Games these days are made to run like shit in favor of realistic visuals with the expectation that consumers will use tech like FSR (AMD) or DLSS (NVIDIA) to achieve a respectable framerate. This causes all sorts of issues because the game is actually running like shit, despite you hitting your fps target; Such as ghosting, smearing and shimmering. Check out the youtube channel 'Threat Interactive' for some mind blowing info for PC enjoyers if you haven't heard of them. Watch their first video first if you decide to check them out, it's a real eye opener. I knew there were issues because I was experiencing them but this guy was able to articulate my frustrations so much better than I ever could. |

I've seen that video. So I tried using DLSS Performance and I'm noticing a difference.
