Augury map Shade freeze mechanic

While running the Augury map, I was in the middle of the "pulling the big red lever" animation when a shade hit me with its ice ability, which would have normally froze me but as I was in the "pulling the big red lever animation" it did not. When I finally exited the animation, I was unable to do any attacks but I could still move. It wasn't until I let the shade freeze me again, that I was able to attack once the freeze wore off.

This is in PoE2. Not sure how I ended up in PoE1 forums.
