Hand of Chayula not usable after getting a new staff

Got a new staff and now I do not dash towards tthe enemy to appy the curse the skill is not working at all I go back to my old staff and t works. There is not indication like I do not meet the requirement the only diffrence in staffs is the one I have now is pysical damage. Does it requre I have elemental damage? Thanks for any help

Probably have attributes on your old staff and you're now too weak to use the skill at that skill level.

there is no indications that I do not meet the requirements Infact my new staff upped my stats

You don't even need a staff to use that skill , the problem is related to your attribute requirements : probably a Curse/Mark socketed gem associated to Hand Of Chayula .
If you keep using a 200 INT Curse to a 50 INT Hand of Chayula with your 200->50 INT character the skill stop working but will claim it is fine .
