Got Hacked
Hello everyone,
unfortunately I am one of the victims, that got hacked via poe2. Just want to share my sightings, what exactly happened. - poe2 steam edition - None of my ingame items were touched (I'm poor) - about 100 of my steam items (0,05€ - 2€) were listed in the steam market and sold, whilst tried to buy several new items. I got alot of emails from steam, thats where I realised that something is wrong. Changed my password immediately and removed any previous logged on devices. - fortunately the selling was not as fast as the buying, why most of it didn't go through, but around 16€ of items where sold from my steam inventory. - a steam game (18€) was bought on a website called "eneba" which was payed with my paypal. I have no explanation for this one, because I never bought anything on that website. - paypal won't pay my money back, because they think it is a legit transaction and won't give me furthers informations, on which device this transaction was made from. I have two-way-authentification and this wasn't triggered, which makes me asume, that it probably was via my browser, with saved credentials (no breached passwords). Luckily I use a couple of different passwords and not alot of accounts I use were affected, but the most important ones are. I just want to advise everyone to just use a password safe and use different and complex passwords for every website. Also remove any links to all your accounts. Most importantly in paypal, or saved credit card informations in your steam wallet or websites. On some services you can see and/or remove all access from third parties to you accounts. I would recommend to check for any accesses and remove unnecessary/unsecure ones. best regards Last bumped on Jan 10, 2025, 10:38:00 AM

You didnt get hacked via poe2 dude.
You have obviously no idea what a hack is. if they used your paypal too that would mean they got access through your email attached to it. You did something terrible wrong and not GGG. |
