Dead HC characters in maps can't progress the game in Standard

I have only played HCSSF so far and when I tried to enter a map on a character that was able to do that before he died I could not interact with the map device at all even after talking to Doryani. All the progress unlocks from the campaign like the act 3 portal or the crafting bench (even the Ziggurat waypoint) were gone, which is kinda understandable, but the problem is that those characters have no questlog and therefore no way to "progress" the game to be able to access maps ever.

They way I fixed this was to finish the campaign on a HC character that died before endgame as I still had the questlog on those. Talking to Doryani then finally unlocked the mapdevice and questlog on the characters that died in endgame.

Edit: When you have finished a quest that unlocked either the salvage or reforging bench in HC on a character you cannot unlock it anymore in softcore aswell.
