done
I gave this game an honest chance, over 10 days played on 3 characters...
but I'm done, at least for now. I'll start with a positive, the graphics are amazing. D4 doesn't even hold a candle to the graphical magnificence of this game. It's next level by a mile. I can tell you put a tremendous amount of thought and effort into it. The mapping system has a great number of original maps. Great job. It's the end game death toll that is hinging me on being suicidal that pushed me over the limit though. 10% exp loss, instant boot from map, loss of any map bonuses all combined is too much. Same on all 3 toons I played, hit 81 and gain/lose exp and never hit 82. Then I run out of maps with no good options to gain more, so I'm stuck depending on public games. This will bring me to the #2 items that is unbearable. The super toxic fan base. Because I already know the string of comments to come next. "GET GUD!!!" "It's a skill issue!" blah blah blah. Guess I can't have an opinion if it's counter to the game culture. The thing is, I already know it isn't just me, I watch people die all around me constantly in public games. I'm usually last to go, but I still go. As people die, public games just get harder and harder because other players are no longer there to assist. Or, you die first and they boot you... It just isn't FUN to work all day on the same level with no progress, and isn't having fun the whole point? Last bumped on Jan 9, 2025, 8:37:16 PM

If you are dying enough for xp loss at 81 to be a concern you are dying way too much and it leads me to think you have some serious holes in your character like multiple non capped resistances and no defensive layers besides your base life pool.
Stuff that is all easily fixable on trade league with less than a divine worth of exalts. |

ya if you're not having fun with this game, there are plenty of other games out there to have fun with

i think JSH's latest vid sums up a lot of the end game succintly
"difficult games are fine, frustrating game just make people quit" he echoes a lot of how i feel about poe2's end game. i died a god damn lot of times fighting poe1's act bosses. but i m hyped i want to keep trying. i liked it being hard. i liked it being difficult. but for the end game, its "try once and get fucked" if you lose. this introduces the frustration aspect. in fact i prefer poe2's campaign now more than the endgame. the campaign can be difficult/hard. it can give me a god damn challenge. but i can keep trying and i can actually GIT GUD eventually. end game? oh you died. no refunds. all the loot you dropped? cant pick em up. all the monsters you killed and all the juiced mechanics you put it? too bad its all gone. you had experience? ok we're taking some away. so how do i git gud? 1. OVERFARM and OVERGEAR. dont engage if you think you're weak. play easy maps even tho you're god damn bored of it. then trade for all the gear that you need. 2. WATCH YT VIDS. dont know a boss fight? DONT TRY TO ENGAGE. its ALWAYS BETTER to watch a YT tutorial explaining the boss fight as you only get 1 shot. 3. DONT ENGAGE in content. for real. you know you'll lose a lot if you die. save it for later, and hope you get stronger so "later finally comes". all this does is tell players to not engage. dont "play" the game. and thats what i did. i went back to campaign and have fun. but in anycase a patch is coming up. lets see what ggg is cooking [Removed by Support]
