experience lost on death needs to be gone
in poe 1 even though i dont agree, but i can understand such setting,
but in poe 2 experience lost is soooo unnecessary, the punishment for death is severe already Last bumped on Jan 10, 2025, 9:51:20 AM

" I'd rather we get more portals but keep the xp loss. It's a necessary factor to prevent glass cannon builds from being the meta. |

No the other penalties should be lessened. Xp loss is extremely necessary.

" there are better and more fun ways to tackle this tbh, and btw glass cannon is already meta |

" How exactly would the game stop functioning without an XP penalty? |
|
" It wouldn't. It would be completely fine without it, and people would forget it ever existed. 99% of the people defending exp penalty would disable it if it was an option in the settings menu lol |

It's good to have penalties on death so that it feels like building defense and playing to avoid death rather than just killing as fast as possible is equally rewarding.

" Literally nobody disputes this. I don't believe anyone thinks there should be no loss or penalty to dying. The argument is about what that should be. I think they should do away with the XP loss and keep most other things as they are (except for the pinnacle bosses). Or at the very least try it during EA. Others argue the XP loss should remain and lessen or remove the other penalties. I believe GGG can come up with something better than an archaic XP loss mechanic to incentivise staying alive rather than overly punishing mistakes. |

I think penalty can stay, but the ritual needs to prevent 100% loss and be much more accessible.
