My feedback.
Hi, I don't have much experience with poe1, I was here when the game started but I left the game shortly after release due to "real life" stuff and later on the game was too complicated for me.
I was really looking forward to Poe 2 and had high hopes for it (and still do). I was really looking forward to the "souls like" style etc and here are a few lines from me about my feelings. I'm currently level 73 Gemling and level 91 Infernalist on SC. I don't even know where to begin. :-D I'll start by saying that I'm an almost 40 year old gamer with a family, a job, and I play the game ~5 hours on my days off (I'd say around 80 hours a month, sometimes more, sometimes less). Anyone who is an adult, has a job, etc. can no longer afford (in most cases) to play all day or night, yknow. I'm past those days like a lot of us. Campaign, I like it but, for me, unnecessarily big zones, to do it once is great, some story etc, to do it the second time with a different character is "ah..." and honestly I can't imagine doing it with a third character. Shrink the zones a bit and boost xp (maybe?), I don't know but just a person who would like to play more characters is practically forced to buy specific gear and "one shot" everything and get through the campaign as fast as possible. That's not fun. Several times it was mentioned that the game will be quite hard etc, this is true maybe when you start with a character and don't have gear but in the "end game" it's just "zoom zoom zoom" again and practically just like poe 1, wrong for me. Also balance, don't get mad at me but what are the "end game" bosses for if for most of the builds these bosses are just like rare monsters? The one shot bosses is totally shit and the various item/passive/skills interactions are completely broken. End game, I personally got 3 div through drop, got 90 breach splinters and around 30 simulacrum shards, saw 1 omen from ritual stuff and that's it. I didn't see any citadel. In total I dropped 1x greater jewe orb and saw no perfect. Level 20 skill gem is also a thing I haven't seen yet for me. Like having a level 91 character and practically not hitting any end game bosses and not dropping even character progression stuff is absolutely nonsense. I don't have a character that "one shot" the whole screen and usually only get a few splinters during breach, same thing during delirium... Ritual, when I have a map I clear all the ritual stuff on the map but it just never offers anything useful and some "invitation" boss that's just a dream. I'm trying to search for citadel and supposedly (according to various streamers) the only thing that kinda works is just going as far as possible from the start so I go straight from tower to tower, along the way I always run boss maps etc, when I see boss+corrupt+irridate node I put t16 waystone there (been to a few such maps but level 20gem nowhere..), I just play the game but end game stuff is absolutely insanely unavailable from my perspective. Of course I play trade and all the stuff I can buy (like I would say for example 80% of my gear is bought from other players) but just these end game things should be more easily available to everyone in my opinion. I don't have a problem with rare stuff like Mirror, divine etc but just stuff for character progression and stuff for end game content should be more easily available to players in my opinion. Another thing, the fact that rarity has an effect on curremcy is, in my opinion, complete nonsense. In my opinion it should only affect the drop of rarer gear but not currency. Enough people don't like the thing that one map death = map loss. I'm of the opinion here that I like it because it's not that easy and you have to be a bit careful. Life/Armour vs energy shield. It wouldn't hurt to do some work and make a balance because currently you can't compare a build that plays life and god forbid armour and someone who plays energy shield and for example without armour. Speaking from personal experience... Trading, it's great that there's an NPC in the game for currency exchange but I would strongly welcome an auction house! For example, I only play on certain days and at certain times and even though I have some nice pieces to sell the chances of them selling are slim because I'm not in the game as much. But having an auction house where I put my stuff up for sale, set a price and people could buy the item even when I'm offline would be incredibly cool in my opinion. RMT is a bit related to this as well, look at me, I only play some days and only some of the time and as I described above my item sales are weak, even if I have some items that are worth 1div etc the less a person plays the less they sell and the less currency they have and they can't for example afford a better piece of gear for their character because they just can't afford it (even if they could for example if they sold some gear) and what do they do? On purpose I looked at an unnamed (but reputable) website and 1div is (or was) 1,3€, my hourly wage is 16€. So what about the guy who just has stuff to sell but hold at a time when no one is interested and his play time is limited but just wants to have decent gear and try end game bosses etc? Yknow, the fact that there's no option to sell stuff even when the player is offline just adds to RMT and I imagine people with income won't have a problem giving a few € for a few div. Just an auction house/some form of selling stuff offline is something I think the game should definitely have. Trials, I really like the Trial of chaos, the individual rooms are quite fast, I can choose a debuff and it's not overly long (10 rounds is just right in my opinion). Sekhemas on the other hand is something completely different, I don't like it at all, first of all the fact that you have to pay attention to how much the mobs hits it is complete nonsense in my opinion, the individual parts are long and there are 4 in total, I just did this one for the ascendancy and I don't intend to do more. I absolutely do not like Sekhemas at all, at most the bosses are cool, especially the scorpion and the last one I like but that's about all I like about it. Otherwise I like the game, it looks nice, I like the effects, the crafting system is fine, the skill system and socket system is good, the atlas and atlas passives are good and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the fact that we only have 2 bottles here, this is awesome! I definitely believe (or hope) that poe2 will be awesome on release. There are things I would like to see changed but that's up to the devs what they think and where they want the game to be. Will I continue to play it? For now, yes, I like the game and I want to try other classes and see what direction the game takes. Will I continue when the game is released? Maybe, but whether I'll actively play the game during seasons depends on where the game is etc, hard to say now that we're practically in beta. This is all just my opinion on the current state of the game and what I would like to see changed. Of course, 100 people, 100 tastes, as they say, so it's more than clear that not everyone will share my view of the game. I trust the devs to work on the game and hope they can get it to where they want it to be, whether I like it or not. Thanks to everyone who read this and have a good day guys. :-) Last bumped on Jan 9, 2025, 5:33:17 AM
