WHY DOES POE 2 FEEL MORE LIKE A PREQUEL THAN A SEQUEL OF POE 1?

SERIOUSLY I HAVE ABOUT 56K HOURS IN POE 1 FROM 2013 TILL NOW...
and after learning all of the lore from poe 1 the only things i can actually say that if path of exile was actually a sequel.. then why on earth does it feel like the lore in poe 2 ? is trying to hint at what caused the overall catyclysim that destroyed wraeclast (notice there is no reference to wraeclast at all in poe 2)

in poe 1.. the beast is a mountain ,here it is nothing but a seed...aagain PREQUEL

IN POE 1 WE HAVE ORIATH(PROBIBLY NAMED AFTER ITS FOUNDER ORIANA(THE COUNTESSS IN POE 2)

the reason i am aasking this is cause if i remember correctly the early poe 2 trailer says" path of exile takes place 20 years in the future.. but it seems to feel more like its many many years (or a diffrent timeline) into the past
