Why Cant I Portal in the middle of Sehkama Trial?

So im attempting my 3rd ascendancy and I made it to the room with all the chests right after the 1st boss. Theres an issue on controller where interacting with any stash outside of a town just drops all your loot on the ground instead of transferring it over.

So instead of bothering with that I TP'd to town and used that stash, and I couldnt reenter the portal. Thats a tad annoying but the real issue I have with it is when I entered the trial again from the main waypoint room I wasnt able to interact with the vendor or those bronze, silver and gold chests..it skipped me past that and put me on to the next floor. Kinda sucks cause I was hoping to spend some of my water to get a boon or something useful cause im on a good run so far, and now I cant just cause i used a portal??

Seems like a design oversight?? Why cant I just use portals I dont really understand the logic there. Also will the chests appear and the end of floor 2? ive never done the A2 trial past floor one cause I did ultimatum to get my 2nd set of points so i genuinely dont know.

So the reason why you shouldn`t portal out in the run is probably so you cannot refill flasks/health/mana at the well.
