The annoying arguments i hear around “Pausing shouldn’t pause the game”
I’m going to break this down into digestible bites for you guys.
Ggg has to balance the game - True. To balance the game, All players should have the same access to surviving methods via Logging out. - True The meta state for a game like Poe is a Log out macro which is the fastest - True Bridge- Now that we’ve established that, ggg needs to balance the game around a log out macro. The solution is the “Pause Gamestate” via pausing the game. This creates a universal log out for all players. Additionally! It creates an opportunity to jump back in and attempt to recover from a near death experience which poe did not have before. Prior to the “Pause” players universally logged out. Now they decide whether to log out or continue, There is literally no downside to this change and the complaints are not warranted. Also What’s with the complaints over logging out during a boss? In poe1 the core strategy of the majority of players was to abuse logging out and utilizing 6 portals to refill flasks. In Poe2 the act bosses fully heal making it canonically harder. PoE1 is notorious for having macro pause / exit baked into HC due to the rippy nature of it / bad coding. I mean. Just come out and admit it: you can't play HC without the Free Save macro. |

" Ok, did I read this correctly? You said the core strategy was to abuse something and that is what you are fighting for? Pause is there for those of us that have life needs while playing, if people start logging out after then either they lose the map or when they re-enter they should be back in the exact same position. See all fixed. |
