Unique weapons in end game

Some Uniques in this have some really cool mods on them but then the base stats make it so you can only use them in Act 1 - 2 and then you are just hurting yourself to use them. My favourite item in this game bar none is Hoghunt Felled Greatclub but by the end of Act 1 it will already be outpaced by rares or really good magic items. It is a cool item I would love to make a build around but in Act 1 you can barely even have a build yet alone make one with an item in mind. It just feels like a throw away item when it should be an awesome feeling to see that orange glow of an unique. Just seems like a waste to me to see something this cool just be a chance shard or a bank filler.
