Logged into PoE2 today wanting to upgrade my ring that was a little lacking. I farmed some currency so why not? bought my new precious and popped the bad boy on, Ready to rock. Oh shoot! I did my math wrong and I was short on my cold res now. No problemo, I'll just pop in a rune and be off. Oof! all my sockets are full.....what are my options now?
1. Replace another gear slot to fix my res. ezpz!

A. Buy a new X off the market.
But I need to double check what res I need on my calculator and not forget to account for THAT items res. Would'nt want a repeat would we?

B. "Craft" a new item to fit my needs.
How hard can that be? I'll just slam some alt's and benchcraft whats left. Wait....wrong game, This is new and improved silly goose. No need for all that busy work. Just buy a tab of fresh bases, alch them all, then recombo the junk. RIP, I only have one X left and it currently has 1.7hp/s and 5int that I need to be something else.

Back to the drawing board...
........C. I can try to farm a floor drop. I'll just burn through my T15's and pray I get a (Tier5) in the slot I need to replace!

Well I ended up going with option A, And had to replace a total of 3 other slots to cap res, stay alive, and all that silly stuff. Took a couple hours of staring at the trade posts, trying to find gear with particular resistances, in a specific range.

Hell yeah! Lets play the game! With all these new items. Lets take another crack at getting my 4th ascendancy. I'm lv89 with capped block and all res. Surly this time is different. You've ran hundreds of sanctums in PoE, no sweat.

I'll save you the long form for this. But I killed all 3 initial bosses before they could even move. I made it to the last boss with so many juicy boons, 50% more damage, Less monster life, 30% increased relic effect. (89% increased boss dmg 100 honor res. The works.

I got him to below half health before his time thingy.....and wouldnt you know it. Since I ONLY have 30% movespeed and missed the last orb by a litteral step. BOOP! all gone. Sick.

Okay deep breaths! You still got that Glove from a chest! Lets see what we can do with that! 100% EV/ES, 35dex, 24% chaos res.
SLAM SLAM SLAM! Wait, theres hope! CHAOS ORBS! welp thats gone. guess I'll vendor it and log off for the day.

4hours....4 hours to get end up in the same place as I was before. but with 2 magic gems that were trash...so thats cool.


Point of reference: I played Poe1 a ton. I craft endgame builds as projects for my leagues. My 3.25 end of league gamba was to farm and run 100 uber elders to see if I could get dank Watchers Eyes. In 3.24 I made an excell sheet on 120+ uber juiced harvest maps just out of curiosity for profit. I am done showing off now.

Yep, this game is just a mix of tedious and time-wasting mechanics while also being a downgrade compared to PoE 1 in terms of everything except graphics. Those pretty graphics don't mean much though when PoE 2 also has horrible optimization lmao

Seems to me the only difficulty in this game is maxxing resistances.
