Question on armor damage mitigation

So with the available information from various sources online - armor should be pretty bad against big hits right?

Now here is my question. I have a lvl 50 titan with 3k armor and 1k hp. I got hit by the large circle of Asinia on cruel act 1.

I survived with a sliver of health, probably <100hp

If I read the poe2db for Asinia on cruel lvl 47 GSWifeMonsterDelayedBlastLarge skill is dealing 6-9k physical dmg.

So what happened and why am I still alive?

Can someone that knows the game better give some ideas or explanation?

Basically that's probably not the correct value.
