"Combos" are too overpowered
The balance between hitting bosses with any skill vs doing some kind of combo setup is way way way too dramatic. There's just no other way to play than perfect strike, sunder, or hammer of the gods for bosses as a mace character because nothing else can even remotely compete. It's like a difference of 50x more damage with the right setups and it's just not very good. There are basically 3 mace builds because of this right now.
Quarterstaves also need to have the bell. It's like if you had curses available that applied -200% resistance with no investment at all. You just have no choice but to bring these things. We're either going to need to have 10 different "bells" to choose between or we're gonna have to figure out how to make picking it an actual choice. Hammer of the Gods is also a completely ridiculous skill that is mandatory on every single mace build no matter what, unless you're like pure totems or something but even then it's still good. I'm doing a non Bell Monk and I endorse this message. I had to trade for a perfect orb and 6 link my frost strike and set it up just for bossing. It's still worse than a 3 link bell but I'm committed now. It's enough DPS but I feel like the game is trying to shoehorn everyone into using the same small set of skills. The other skills are just there to make it look like there's choice.

I would rather they add more skills and interesting interactions than devolve back to 1-skill gameplay.

More skills is only more better if those skills are actually effective. At this point most skills are just there to make you read the description and go, "Yeah, I'm never going to use this."
