[ACT 1] I was oneshotting everything until I arrived to Manor of Count Geonor...

Hello.

This is my 4th playthrough and this time I went with the Monk.
This was one of my most successful starts, I was one shooting everything
and every boss except Count Geonor was a 10-second fight. Once I arrived at the Manor, the game suddenly became extremely difficult, the monsters were destroying me! I don't know what went wrong, I didn't mess with my build then. It felt weird because I never had a hard time in Act 1. Maybe I did something wrong without realizing it or the game scaled to my power?

I dont think you have done anything wrong, the early access itself feels like there is a disconnect in the difficulty ramp at certain spots thoughout the game where it does not feel like a smooth transition.

I believe this is just simply a matter of tweaking over time, places like the manner and Utzaal peak drastically higher suddenly in overall difficulty then their previous spots instead of gradual incline.
Thanks for replying! I will try to log in tomorrow and see if anything has changed. Otherwise, I will leave the Monk for now, because in this playthrough I found an awesome legendary fire-staff that gives 60% fire damage (I don't remember based on what) and I want to play Sorceress so bad!!!

The Manor is a fairly hard zone, the Iron monsters are all pretty beefy (With high HP and high Armor), and all hit fairly hard and leave very damaging blood pools that can kill in just a few seconds. Generally all of the 'final' zones of each act sees a big jump in difficulty (before calming a bit afterwards).
first melee char i guess?

melee is pretty rough in that zone
Yes, this is my first melee character. I played Sorceress, Witch, Ranger, and now the Monk. But the Monk has the most amazing skillful combos so far, it's really fun! I learned how to fight using my combos to deal damage and get to safety quickly (by dodging, or using the lotus skill) before getting too much DPS from the mobs, but in this area, I really struggled. I guess because this playthrough was OP and I was one shooting everything, I became lazy :P
The manor is hell for melee because so many of the enemies you kill explode into pools at can kill you very quick if you are not paying attention. I did my first melee character and that is the one area I absolutely despised at warrior.
