FIX THE TRIALS OF STUPIDITY

Hey folks, please FIX the trials of Chaos and whatever the other is called. IT IS BORING, NOT FUN to play and a pain to even try. We play games for fun, not for this.

If by "fix" you mean "remove" then I fully support that.
How to make trials better: 1. They should be tailored to the specific ascendancy someone is trying to get/progress. 2. They should test specific strengths and weaknesses for that ascendancy 3. They should be able to be finished by even casual players 4. They should be able to do be done at ANY TIME after level gating requirements are met instead of randomly based on a drop except for maybe the 4th one. 5. They should be about 1/4th as long as they are right now. 6. RNG should not be a factor (random debuffs, buffs, etc.) It really needs a LOT of work and for them to break out of the mentality they had in POE 1 where everyone just dealt with whatever they shoveled. Agree. I've been sticking to a single character just to avoid having to run those ascendancy trials ever again. Hell, I'll keep playing in the Early Access league even!

" This might not be as good an idea as it sounds. Ascendency does NOT equal build. There are now, and will be many more builds that use an Ascendancy in its "unintended" way, and that will just create different problems in the same vein as what we have now. Like, what would a Pathfinder Ascendency trial look like? Do poison damage? I'm not a poison build though. Use a concoction? I don't have that point yet. Just use some flasks and run around? What kinda trial is this? I already think it's a shame that you get a different Passive Skill Tree between the two subclasses, Sorc and Witch for instance have different starter points. I have a Chronomancer that would absolutely love to have Minion points at my starting area, but I don't get to do that because reasons. The witch does, in the same starting area. Not the sorc. Don't do that to Ascendency trials too, IMO. |

" It's not just the ascendancy that makes the build. It's the build itself and it woudln't take 100 lines of code for them to create an algorithm that pulls the player's nodes, gear and stats and whips up a few challenges based on that. It's hard to imagine because they haven't done it. But, it really wouldn't be that hard. Trials of dogwater
Im a melee charater.. I just went to the end with 25% honor to fight 2 aoe slam bosses at the same time the whole time just thinking ... how trivial this would be with a ranger ... or minions .. or a mage of any kind... totally trivial... but nope .. im going to run in there and swing with my 2 hander with an animation that will make it impossible for me to avoid the attack here allow me to make the fight impossible code ... when player hits attack, attack ... you win. |

Class specific trials would be nice, but at the very least the honour system has to go together with the requirement to farm relics and the RNG based debuffs. Right now the trials can be anything between impossible to do and a walk in the park.
Yesterday I did the 3rd ascendancy trial with a guildmate and we barely made it because we had so many afflictions and almost no boons, today I did the same with another guildmate and we ended up with 9 boons, only 5 afflictions that didn't matter much and killed the 3rd boss with almost full honor. Those trials really aren't how they should be in any way. |
