Weapon disappeared after accidentally equipping a different one

On the video, you can see that I accidentally equipped a sceptre that I wanted to identify (thought it was blue). My character equipped it, but now my actual sceptre is nowhere to be found. It just didn't appear in my inventory after being taken off; it wasn't there on the ground either. Weapon swap unchanged. No idea what happened here. Relog didn't help.
