quick feedback - mainly about bosses ^^^ /played 400 hours^^

Hi

Generally: SC Trade, 2 characters played, "/played" around 400 hours


I know it is very Early Access and you will balance everything later on but for now:


1) Boss fights

Crucial for me. PoE 2 it was supposed to be different from PoE 1. You guys add wasd, dodge roll but tbf after 600h I can one shot or kill some bosses within few seconds and I don't need any dodge roll or wasd to stay alive :) . Bosses were more difficult in the campaign then in end game. Shouldn't be the other way around?


For me Boss Fights should look like this:

Mirror Tier gear (everything literally mirrored if possible, can't get better, 5k divs+)
: 3 minutes for Pinnacle Boss (Arbiter, Xesh, Orloth etc), 20 sec for regular map Boss (still give him a chance to beat me, idk add some short phases where he can't be damaged but can do some fast mechanics)

Good gear (capped chaos res and elemental res, high EHP and some other layer of defense like high Evasion/Block/Armour etc)
: 5 min for pinnacle and like 40 sec for map boss

Average gear (capped resistances, average values for other layers of defense)
: long 10 min fight for pinnacle and like 1 minute for map Boss

Poor gear (uncapped res, low chaos res etc, zEHP type of build)
: pinnacle can't be done, map boss can't be done

2) Campaign

Long but fun. I enjoy it. The only thing that bothered me was poor quest tracking. Also I think there should be option for changing quest reward like we have in PoE1 where we can change our Bandit choice any time later on just using recipe.

3) Hope to see more defensive option later on"

Since this is "wsad", "dodge roll" type of game I want too see more defensive gems. Something that you can press in a specific situation. F.e. Gem with cooldown that you can press him and you are immune to burning ground for x seconds. Another gem f.e. that give you some ES bubble for x time. And another that remove freeze. Ofc everything with reasonable cooldowns. More defensive options.

4) Since a lot of kindergarten about "1 portal"

Personally I like it. Provides better economy in Trade Leagues and force me to think about my build. What I can do and what I am still too weak to do. You just need to remove some death effects or make them more visible.

But I don't think hard-gating the boss behind "Mirror Tier" builds at base is a great idea, for example: if the boss drops exclusive items then those items will inherently be more expensive. Also, doing them in SSF will be a no go. Having the boss drop no better loot than the lower difficulty one also beats the purpose of it being more difficult.

Instead of them being that hard at base, they should be "scalable" meaning, we have the ability increase the difficulty of the bosses for better rewards and challenge. Something like this already exists in PoE1.

Agree with the difficulty part though.

I know its not poe 1 but a boss that lasts the time in which i can do 5 maps in poe1 really sucks considering mirror gear. You know most people are happy too see theire one and only divine...

Its super hard to balance such game with such wide variety of audience but gating content so much is really just making it unaccessible to 95% of players which is not a good design imo.

yes, I fully agree. A big challenge. Especially vs today's "average player" :) .

It's going to be hard GGG but I hope they won't succumb to this harassment. In another case, poe 2 will move towards poe 1.
