Trials of Chaos - Can not continue platform is up

It happend a second time in 10 minutes of trying the chaos trials as a monk.
After defeating all the mobs, the platform/elevator at the end of trial is up, but should come down so I can proceed.

The lever/switch next to it is not interactable.
I've been looping around in this area for some time now, but can't seem to find the interaction to proceed. Am I doing something wrong?

You have to walk next to the statue and escort it to the end.
