Melee skill mana costs scaling is too high

If I don't invest into Intelligence or get + mana from gear, i am OOM within 2 to 4 skill casts at higher levels.

The skills themselves gain very little from higher ranks so I am not understanding why higher ranks end up being so much more mana intensive. For example:

Level 18 Mace Strike is 283% damage, basic attack, costs no mana.

Level 1 Boneshatter is 100% damage, only 60% speed, costs 9 mana
Level 18 Boneshatter is 283% damage, only 60% speed, costs 64 mana
183% damage increase at a cost of 611% mana increase.

Level 7 Leap Slam is 180% Damage, up to 1.15s slower attack, 29 mana
Level 18 Leap Slam is 311% Damage, up to 1.15s slower attack, 102 mana
73% damage increase at a cost of 250% mana increase

The mana scaling suggests heavy investment into into or mana as a melee class. Especially when mana leech isn't instant. Something needs to be adjusted. Melee feels like developers just want us to auto attack...

Melee in the game is bad. Scream it load, and scream it often. Demand GGG hear it and address it.

No, Monk is not melee. I don't give a crap what the tag line on it's abilities say. This game is long ranged AoE spam or bust.
I feel very lied to at this moment, Johnathon specifically stated that the intention of PoE 2 was to "Fix" melee, adding that it was in a great spot.

It's not, Warrior at the very least is sub par to practically every other class in the game, at most, it is completely broken.

I'm glad its early access as the class feels as if noone even bothered to test it in house themselves before pushing it out the door.

There is no identity to thee class, What is it that Warrior is supposed to do best that seperates itself from being simply an NPC character?

Are we supposed to be the tank? The defensive bastion? Why is it every other classes defensive mechanisms outpace warrior on every level then?

Are we supposed to be this slow moving destroyer of worlds? The trade off for movement and usability being our massive damage? Nope, we are out paced yet again by every other classes damage output.

There is no reason for Warrior in it's current state to even exist in this game.
With level 34 skill gems (+6/+6/+2) the only warrior dps skill I can use is default attack. My hammer of the gods on a 3 link consumes about 600 mana.

Also, at level 93 I'm still using the default mace strike attack to play the game.

While I believe +Skill modifiers shouldn't exist on gear in the first place, it literally is your own fault for running lvl34 skills by Stacking +Skill modifiers to the point where you no longer have the mana to support them. That's completely your own doing.

Yep, I believe GGG went a bit overboard with the +Skill modifiers. It's way to easy to get them; POE 1 has the right idea in that regard.

Hopefully, since this is Early Access, many of these issues get ironed out.

Stacking gem levels or not does not change the fact that scaling on melee skills, mace skills speffically, are ridiclious.
Warcries take like 90% of your mana bar if you keep it leveled up to par while doing campaign. I can barely run a 3 skill rotation of Shield Charge->Shield Wall->Leap Slam without running out of mana only doing the rotation twice. My guy is only 36 atm. That's horrible and its only going to get worse.

Mana costs need to be reduced drastically or flat out removed on skills that have cooldowns or large windup times. If we are meant to spec into Blood Magic node then life regen and life leech needs major buffs so its viable to use early on since melee is so prone to going splat.
Diablo figured out mana/engery/resource management a long time ago. There's no reason it should be this crappy in poe2 after you know what does and does not work in poe1.
