Why "bricked atlas" may be statistically inevitable, rather than just unlucky
I have not encounted the bug where it becomes impossible to progress the atlas myself. But I figure it is only a matter of when rather than if.
What causes bricked atlas is that the player gets an unlucky roll multiple times resulting in not having any connections outside of their current atlas. You may think this is just unlikely.... but it is actually inevitable due to the "infinite atlas" as you progress outwards you will have a very tiny chance of bricking you atlas at each step. While it may be the case that the chance gets less at each step, to the point that bricking the atlass at 10,000 maps seems almost impossible, the fact that there is a CHANCE however small, and that you are gambling on it an infinite number of times means that EVENTUALLY you will get unlucky enough times in a row to brick the atlas. I am not talking about bricking the altas early, but probably in tens of thousands of maps or maybe more. It is just most likely to occur in the initial area as that requires getting unlucky the fewest times in a row. Basically bricked atlas is a result of the infinite atlas itself.
