Unable to cast after clicking shrine

After I click on a Shrine, Ritual, etc, there is around a 5 second delay before I'm able to cast and spells again. I'm able to walk around and monsters are able to hit me (it's killed me multiple times). After the delay, I'm able to cast again just fine.
