4K/High Polling Rate Mice Cause Severe FPS drops in game

When I have 4k polling rate enabled on my mouse, the game basically freezes up entirely when I twirl my cursor in circles around my character really fast. the more movement the worse the lag and can freeze the game entirely. Ian the performance graph the CPU bar shoots all the way up and gets stuck at the max end.

I disabled my 4k polling rate and went to standard 1k polling and the issue is resolved. Turning 4k back on re-introduced the problem.
