Request to Implement Cross-Buy for Path of Exile 2

Dear Grinding Gear Games Team,

First of all, I would like to express my appreciation for the incredible work you have put into developing Path of Exile and its sequel. I have been a long-time player who deeply values the quality and passion evident in your project. Path of Exile 2 looks like an exceptional experience that will undoubtedly attract millions of players.

However, I would like to highlight a concern regarding the availability of the game across multiple platforms. Currently, the lack of a cross-buy feature forces players to make multiple purchases if they wish to play both on PC and consoles such as Xbox or PlayStation. This can be especially frustrating for players who support the game by purchasing Early Access Supporter Packs.

Such a policy might be discouraging, particularly for players who would like the freedom to switch platforms without losing access to their purchased content. Many industry competitors offer solutions allowing for a single purchase to work across multiple platforms, significantly enhancing player convenience.

Therefore, I would like to kindly request that you consider implementing a cross-buy feature or an alternative system that would allow players to access the game on multiple platforms after a single purchase. I am confident that such a change would be warmly welcomed by the community and would further strengthen Grinding Gear Games’ reputation as a studio that truly cares about its fans.

Thank you for considering this request. I hope a solution can be found that benefits both players and your team. Wishing you continued success with the development of Path of Exile 2!

This is 100% a limitation of early access combined with Xbox/playstation store policies.

Good news is at full release the thing you’re asking for will be instantly implemented - ie the game will go free to play so you can play it on other platforms with no additional purchases.

Bad news is it almost definitely will NOT happen prior to full release. This is due to Sony/MS policies on their console stores.
I have the access key for the Steam version, received here on this website.
This same website here, from PoE2, could provide additional keys to activate on Xbox or Playstation, even if you choose only one of the two! And to log in to the game, obviously, you need to have access as usual.
This "Sony or Xbox limitation" can be easily solved, just offer a key to whoever is interested.

Nobody thinks it wouldn't be easy...

The issue is whether they want to do it - they don't.

Your plan is for someone to buy the game through Steam (-30% for Valve's cut), use GGG's website to generate a key for the game on Playstation (-30% for Sony's cut), then use the website to generate a key for the game on Xbox (-30% for Microsoft's cut), and after payment processing fees have been accounted for, GGG... might get 5% of the amount? By "amount" I, of course, mean "whatever is left after tax". So if the game costs €30, GGG might end up with an after-tax price of €24.39, so their cut would be €1.2195. Would you like to suggest any other ways for GGG to bankrupt themselves..?
