Ok seems like URL links are forbidden for some reason,
The original article can be found at "debrieF ‘Dead Internet Theory’ Looms as Meta Unveils Plans to Flood Facebook and Instagram with AI ‘Users " with a simple google search. here the main extract: ‘Dead Internet Theory‘ could be closer to becoming a reality, as Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta has unveiled new plans to stock its social media platforms with fake AI users. The controversial Dead Internet Theory posits that bots and algorithms designed to manipulate society have completely taken over the internet. Although the theory exaggerates current real world online conditions, Meta’s plan to host full AI accounts in the next two years will do little to calm its adherents. Countdown To AI Meta is quickly developing technology to allow its 3 billion users to create AI characters. The company believes AI is essential in competing with rivals for a next-generation audience who see Facebook and Instagram as their parent’s social media platforms. Meta’s vice president of product for generative AI, Connor Hayes, told the Financial Times that they expect AI accounts to become a significant feature of the platforms in coming years. These artificial accounts will have their own bios and can generate and share content independently. Hayes explained that AI content is a priority for the company, with plans to make AI interaction more social over the next two years. Hundreds of thousands of characters have been created using the tool since its July launch. So far, most of these characters have remained private creations that are not available to public members of the service. Most public-facing AI use on the platform has been in editing real users’ content, yet the next wave of products aims to blur the line. Meta has allowed users to create AI assistants to answer follower questions. In an earlier demonstration, founder Mark Zuckerberg showed off an AI avatar that could converse in live video calls, although there were some guard rails on the projects, which included allowing creators to tell their avatars to avoid or emphasize specific topics. .... article by Ryan Whalen Forum pvp

The greatest Success of social networks was that they are now generally likened to the internet. When someone talks about the internet, the person most likely mean social networks or content networks.
This gave rise to this cute theory. No the internet will not be dead, even if there are billions of bots on so called social networks. Because they are just a small part of the network itself. The only thing that will be dead are social networks. Which won't be a problem as actual advertisement/revenue system on these platforms are so far removed from any reality that nobody will actually notice. And this is the real joke about all that. Advertisement is mostly automated today ;) (A small Documentation about many the problems with that: https://www.arte.tv/en/videos/109029-000-A/the-click-trap/) Back in the day, i think it was 2001? people actually doubted that the internet would ever be a mass media, and they were actually right. What made it the mass media it is today were the social networks. Not the small forums personal sites and special platforms. I central Europe it began with studi.vz u:boot and soon after facebook. Suddenly even the non-nerds began to use computers as well as the internet and soon after everybody was here. But when I'm looking at one of those standard users (I mean everybody knows some of them) They actually use about 5 sites: youtube, google, the social network(s) of their choices and maaaaaybe one or two hobby websites (well mainly Hobby influencers on SM again). That's it, yes. And this type of internet is in serious danger to become automatized. As I dabble a bit in network/data science as well as Machine learning I'm kinda giddy about all that. Not because I think its positive, but because it will be hilarious. You have already guessed, I dabble in cynicism as well ;) Current Build: Penance Brand

its so ridiculous
ban tiktok and fill meta platforms with bots? that haunted mop who runs meta was waffling on about other countries being unable to innovate, and this is the best they can do to stay afloat? after sinking the gdp of a country into the metaverse and then shutting down cause its a shit idea done badly? this is hopefully the part where the west wakes up and realises that our societies are being run by hacks, the idea that these people are geniuses worth billions running life on the hardest difficulty with 4 things is a bad joke. they are actually incompetent and the systems that are putting so much of societies resources in the hands of these clowns are fundamentally broken. lets keep everyone working a 40-60 hour week paycheck grind that could mostly be done by machines while the actual machines pretend to be people and socialise on facebook? just get me through the next 40 years, thats all i ask. let me get my last 40 years in and gtfo of here before the entire thing falls apart. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
