problem with kabala clan relic

"I can't place the second relic on the altar.
When I take the second one out of my inventory, the slot where I'm supposed to place it disappears, and I drop the relic on the ground."

"Unless I hold CTRL, I can’t place the relic.
I am in Act 2, Cruel difficulty."
