Death during ascendency in hardcore mode

Does dying during an ascendency trial count as a real death that will take you out of hardcore mode? I'm just trying to decide if it's worth the risk.

Depends, if you mean HP = 0 then yes it does.

In Sekhema if you lose because of lost honor the answer is no, or at least that is how it works in POE1. That is one of the major benefits of honor, it doesn't count as a death so no on death effects (hardcore or xp loss in softcore) happen.

Thanks. That's what I needed to know. I have trouble with the higher ascendencies without hardcore in the equation. I'll probably just wait for a higher level.

So I would like to ask for someone to confirm.
I have got 2/4 done, now next one would be again the run with honour.
I made a research and could not find a prove if a fail will kill the char or not.
So far I have seen posts that if you run out of time in escape mission you can die, so dunno if this also happens if you lose all honour too.

Could someone please confirm what is right or wrong?
