Latency spikes FIX (possible)
This fix works just fine for me and I hope it will help yall.
1. open the Nvidia control panel —> 3D settings —> manage 3D settings. 2. set the shader cache size to 100GB. 3. save and reboot. 4. done. Write back if it worked pls. Backstory: for the first week after purchase, I had no problems with the game at all, but recently there have been huge latency spikes. I searched for a solution on reddit, poe2 forum, steam, and YT but found nothing. After looking at the ping spikes w/ performance display (F1 button), i notice that the shader parameter was going crazy right before the ping jumped from the usual 30ms - 70ms to 300+ ms. Tried to change various settings within the game - nothing. I opened the Nvidia control panel where I found the shader cache size parameter. Changed it from "driver default" to "100GB” and the spikes disappeared completely. I think that having a large amount of free SSD disk space is also important (200GB in my case). P.S. specs if it helps: win 10, r5 5600x, rtx4060, 16gb RAM, 400mbps internet connection. Last bumped on Jan 6, 2025, 10:43:04 PM

Will test this as have similar issue on Hive map with Shader spiking then suddenly ping going bananas to 10k
Have optical internet - 1gb so should not have issues. Will post if this solved the issue. Thanks for providing it. |

This seems to have helped me too. My internet and PC should be able to handle the game fine but was getting lag spikes that froze the game for 1-30 seconds every 1-2 minuets. Now after I changed the shader cache I am not getting those freezes. Thanks

Hi,
I had this experience when entering maps, my shader goes brrrr brrr. I follow the guide above changing the shader cache from Unlimited to 100GB. It is still lagging. BUTTTTTT, When I change my Renderer from Vulkan to Dx12, my ping was gone (sometimes when entering maps) and it is not always but lessen. My theory is this renderer thing. Before I am using dx11 and I do not have problem. Sorry for my english as it is not my native language. TLDR. if your ping goes brrrr brrrr. try adjusting shader cache size just like the legend person above and change the renderer to Vulkan, Dx 11 or 12. Thank youuuuu " please give me divine orb :D" |
