Can't send private whispers through the website

For some reason I keep getting the message that I have to be logged in to send whispers, even though I'm logged in and my accounts are linked. I also keep getting put back to POE1 trading. Knowing me it's probably user error of some kind but if someone could help me fix it that'd be great :)
Most of the time it doesn't show me as logged in in the top left corner, even if I literally just did, that might have something to do with it.
