Checkpoint in Temple of Kopec NOT working

Am currently fighting the boss in Temple of Kopec.

Have died a few times but when I do, it takes me all the way back to the start of the Temple.. even though there is a checkpoint just before I walk into the boss encounter.

When Fast Traveling from the start to the boss Checkpoint it doesn't teleport me anywhere and I remain at the start of the Temple.
If I try and teleport to the checkpoint on the middle level it will take me there as intended.

But the boss one does NOT work for Teleporting or respawning on death
