Level 0 Sorceress
I think I found a bug with the new naming system.
In PoE1 every character name across the entire game was unique. Like a Highlander, "there can be only one". You added friends via "Enter the character name" option. In PoE2 it was decided to merge DBs, include 4-digit discriminators to account and allow multiple people to use the same character name. *However* the system menu remained the same and you can *only* add friends via the character name. And here the fun part begins. I added a character name of my friend and the game connected me with... a different guy, who also happened to have a character with same name, because why not, duplicates are now allowed. I typed /whois NAME and the system got confused, telling me that this character is a Level 0 character playing standard and currently offline, even though the guy it conncted me to (not the one I wanted) was online at the time and playing his 83lvl srceress. So there are two characters with 1 name, you can add the one, not the other, and you can query the DB for neither of them. To make it more fun, I still can't add an account. When I try, discriminators or not, the game tells me that a character with that name does not exist. So to sum up: check mate. I can't use account name to add friend, but I can't add the character name either, because it points to a different person. Tuf life. Please fix, GGG, thanks BR Last bumped on Jan 3, 2025, 4:50:19 AM
