Re-running the campaign for every char, every time.

POE and POE 2 are the best games of the genre and with the best endgame.
The only thing that really bothers me is, for every new char you have to go through the whole campaign again. I don't mind doing that once per season. But while campaigning the game turns from a game of killing mobs and looting things to a game of runing from A to B, get and Item and returning to town. And the faster you go (and the lesser you kill) the better. That is boring. Replayability is great, making new characters, trying new builds is a good part of the game. Having to run the campaign everytime kills the mood to do so. Diablo solves this problem with adventure mode. I would kindly ask you, let us level alts in POE2 doing maps, or delves or any other content. Thanks. Last bumped on Jan 4, 2025, 2:12:28 PM

Well, I think doing the campaign once per league is super all right. Right now I have one character on endgame, I would try monk or any kind of warrior but investing 6-8 hours in a new campaign is a deal breaker for me. Sadly.

The first 2 acts are a slog fest. Can anyone say new genre, Slow Motion Action Role Playing Game, or SMARPG for short. Who in their right mind would want to repeat this over and over. Until this is changed this game is dead to me. Paid Pre release alpha/beta testing is a scam.

Usually I don't mind having to re-run the campaign but it's by far the main thing that will stop me from returning league to league, especially if A4-6 are as exhausting as A3 was.
It already killed my motivation to try further classes for now. End game of course has it's issues but I imagine there are a lot of changes coming to that in future patches, but you can't really patch out making the campaign not feel so awful. Maybe it is having to repeat it on cruel for now that makes it feel as bad, we'll have to see. |

IMO they should just let you start standard characters at level 30 with acts 1-3 normal completed after you have reached end game.
It's not 'skipping' .. not meaningful content anyway, I actually like the 'easy mode > hard mode; thing as a one off because it gets you established in game, in your gem collection and filling up your stash, teaching you the boss mechanics, giving you a feel for the game, but I feel like additional runs though the mode are pointless filler. (with the exception of hardcore modes and maybe SSF) |
