Energy shield jewel bug?

Hi. When I put this gem with maximum energy shield %, the mana pool does not increase. But if I remove Eldritch battery, my energy shield does increase. Can you tell me the reason for this? Or is it a bug?

gem, "increased energy shield from equiped focus" also not working

Working as designed. The % modifier is after the conversion. If you are converting your ES to mana, then you have no ES left to increase. Same applies for as extra or converting damage, converting mana to ES, etc. It's not the same as PoE 1 conversions.
